Who Left That Table There

My name is Hanoria Cecilia Baranovich. I am 60 years of age and live with my husband in Lancashire. Around 12 years ago I lost the central line of my vision in my right eye. I got used to that after awhile, and carried on as usual. In November 2009 I suddenly went blind in my left eye due to a blockage and that is how it will remain. The only sight I have, is peripheral in my right eye.

When I lost my sight I was devestated and felt like my world had collapsed around me. There were two ways of looking at it ….. Let it grind you into the ground, or, accept there is nothing you can do about it. So as my Father used to say “always laugh in the face of adversity”, I chose the latter.

I am now writing a book that aims firstly to raise public awareness of blindness and secondly to raise much needed funds for Blind Societies. The book will be a lighthearted look at blindness and will be made up of VIP’s (visually impaired people) anecdotes, stories and experiences be them good, bad, happy, or sad.

I am asking for help in this matter by asking you for your anecdotes. The book will be called “Who left that table there?” I am sure some of you can equate to that! I know I can!

Thank you for reading my story. I look forward to reading yours.
